Common questions

You can use NC° Plan Pregnancy even if you have irregular cycles.

Natural Cycles takes your unique cycle patterns into account, including variations in cycle length and ovulation day. If your cycles are irregular, it may be harder for the algorithm to predict ovulation, so you may see more Brown Days marked “More data needed.” Adding more data can help the algorithm narrow down your most fertile days. In particular, combining your temperature data with LH (ovulation) tests can be helpful if your cycles are irregular.

It’s completely normal for getting pregnant to take time, and everyone’s fertility journey is different. While Natural Cycles research found that Cyclers using NC° Plan Pregnancy became pregnant in an average of 3 cycles, this is just an average — taking longer doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a problem.

Many factors can influence how long it takes to conceive, including age, cycle regularity, lifestyle factors, and underlying health conditions. NC° Plan Pregnancy helps you identify your fertile window so you can better time sex around the days when conception is possible.

If you’ve been trying for a while and have concerns about your fertility, it’s a good idea to speak with a healthcare professional. In general, infertility is defined as not becoming pregnant after 12 months of regularly trying, although your doctor may recommend seeking support sooner depending on your age, cycle patterns, medical history, or other concerns.

Yes! You can use ovulation tests (also known as LH tests) alongside NC° Plan Pregnancy.

Ovulation tests detect the rise in luteinizing hormone (LH) that typically happens 24–48 hours before ovulation. Logging your results in the Natural Cycles app gives the algorithm additional information that can help pinpoint your ovulation and most fertile days more accurately.

To make testing easier, the app will let you know when it’s a good time to take an ovulation test, helping you catch your LH surge without testing more often than necessary. The app also has a feature that allows you to scan your test strip with your phone’s camera and get help interpreting the result. While ovulation tests are completely optional, they can be a useful tool when you’re trying to conceive.

Absolutely. NC° Plan Pregnancy tells you the days when you are most fertile, and it can also let you know when it’s the optimal time to take ovulation or pregnancy tests. Once you log a positive pregnancy test in the app, you can start using NC° Follow Pregnancy – here, you’ll get regular updates on the progress of your pregnancy.

Protecting user information is at the heart of everything we do. Natural Cycles has a comprehensive privacy protection program called NC° Secure, which is included with every Natural Cycles subscription. The program includes advanced data protection, including encryption and pseudonymization, to keep your data secure.

As part of NC° Secure, you also have the option to Go Anonymous if you need an extra layer of protection. If you Go Anonymous, your personal identifying information will be separated from your fertility data, which means that no one — not even us at Natural Cycles — can link your NC° data to you.

Natural Cycles is designed to comply with GDPR and other third-party standards. We regularly audit our systems and follow strict cybersecurity protocols to maintain a state-of-the-art level of security and encryption.

Now more than ever, sensitive data requires greater protection and regulation, and you can feel safe knowing that Natural Cycles is committed to keeping your data protected every step of the way. You can read more about our advanced data privacy protection program here.

NC° Plan Pregnancy combines your unique cycle data with the NC° Fertility Algorithm designed to help identify when you’re most likely to conceive.

After ovulation, levels of the hormone progesterone rise, causing a measurable increase in body temperature. Natural Cycles analyzes these temperature changes alongside your period data to learn the patterns of your cycle, predict and confirm ovulation, and narrow down your fertile window. You can also add optional ovulation (LH) test results to give the algorithm more information.

The app then shows your fertility on a scale, highlighting the days when your chances of conceiving are highest, so you can better time sex around your fertile window.

Natural Cycles research found that Cyclers using NC° Plan Pregnancy became pregnant in an average of 3 cycles.

Natural Cycles offers five modes in order to be customizable based on your fertility goal: Birth Control, Plan Pregnancy, Follow Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Perimenopause.

All these experiences are included in your subscription and it’s free to switch between them as your needs change.
