How to prescribe NC° Birth Control
Follow these three simple steps
Generate a prescription
Search for "Natural Cycles" within your Electronic Health Record (EHR) database. Use diagnosis code z30.8 and specify a "12-month" duration. If providing a written Rx, you must include the patient's full name and phone number.
Route to Alto Pharmacy
In your EHR, select "any location" for Alto Pharmacy or fax to 1-415-484-7058.
Patient activation
Once approved, your patient will receive an email with the Natural Cycles activation link.

No, Natural Cycles prescriptions can only be fulfilled through Alto Pharmacy. Natural Cycles has partnered exclusively with Alto Pharmacy to streamline prescribing and dispensing for patients.
Natural Cycles NDC number is 50014-063028.
Currently, only Natural Cycles Annual Birth Control is covered. Please specify a 12 month duration when prescribing.
At this time, Natural Cycles is only covered in the US in accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and guidance issued by the Department of Labor. As soon as our coverage expands, we will share this with our users.
At this time, government health plans (Medicaid, Medicare, Medi-Cal, Tricare, and VA health plans) do not cover Natural Cycles. Alternatively, Natural Cycles subscriptions are FSA eligible. Please check out this page on our Cyclerpedia for more information.
Once Alto receives the prescription, it typically takes 1 week to confirm it and notify the patient.
Once Alto Pharmacy processes the insurance claim, the patient receives a personal secure link via email to redeem their 12 months of NC° Birth Control. The NC° Band is sent to the patient immediately upon activation of their subscription.
Once the prescription is sent to Alto Pharmacy, patients will be prompted via text to create an account with Alto. Alto will be the patient's point of contact regarding their prescription claim and can answer their questions through the Alto app.

Alto Pharmacy will notify the patient and provide patient assistance options.

Note: Please send refill prescriptions 2-3 months before your patient's existing subscription ends to ensure there is no disruption in access to Natural Cycles.
